On Loma Alta Dr. in Altadena, sits a strange road. Many people know it as Gravity Hill. When you’re on this road, You’re supposed to put your car into neutral and it will start rolling up hill. This is strange because when you put your car on neutral on this kind of road, you’re suppose to go backwards because you're up hill. What’s even more intriguing is if you put baby powder on the hood or the trunk of your car, there are suppose to be fingerprints on it. Why is it that car’s get pushed up this mysterious hill? The history is unclear, but there are a few stories that explain what might have happened.
One story indicates that a girl and her friends had taken her parents car without permission and took it out for a joy ride. However, an unfortunate event occurred when the girl lost control of the car and crashed on the hill. It is said that their spirits are the ones that help you avoid a fatal car crash on the hill. The other story involves a school bus full of children. A school bus was driving on Gravity Hill when the driver lost control and everyone on the bus died. People believe that the kids on the bus help push your car up the hill to avoid an accident. The last story involves an Indian who was killed while pulling his carriage down the hill. Now his spirit remains there with intention of pulling you away from the hill.
I had been on this hill many times to show friends and people curious of the paranormal. I’ve never really investigated the area until now. It appears that Gravity Hill has some intelligent spirits around the area. I had an EMF detector with me and it seemed this one spirt liked communicating with me through it. I asked questions like “Are you a spirit?” “Are you wondering why we’re here?” “Are you a male spirit?” This spirit responded intelligently to my questions by spiking my K-II meter. I felt though at that time, it was time to bring out the SB7 Spirit Box. First things first though. The baby powder test.
I parked my truck at the starting point of the hill and started spreading the baby powder on my bumper. After that, it was go time. I got in my truck and put it on neutral and sure enough, it was moving. What’s interesting is it seems the higher it gets up the hill, the more speed picks up. After that was done, I got out to see the results. I was disappointed to see there was nothing. I wouldn’t excuse this claim just yet. Perhaps the baby powder needs to be placed specifically. Now for the Spirit Box!
If you don’t know what the SB7 Spirit Box does, it sweeps through radio frequencies delivering continuous white noise allowing spirits to communicate with the living. The results from this were pretty interesting. I’ll mention the best ones. I asked if a spirit had been pushing my car up the hill. The response I got was “I drove.” I was driving, but did a spirit channel through me? The other question I asked was “what happened here?” Strangely, the response I got was “Nothing.” My last question was if there were any evil spirits. The Spirit Box picked up“Hey...there’s 8.” This was strange because I’ve never felt anything evil at Gravity Hill.
After the investigation, there are a few things to note. Are the stories about Gravity Hill just made up? Are there evil spirits there? In my opinion, further research needs to be conducted. Investigations
Gravity Hill is one of the most talked about hauntings in Los Angeles County. Many young people like to come here looking for a paranormal experience. Rumor is if you leave baby powder on your car, you'll see the finger prints of the children that apparently died in a bus crash on the hill. I did this and nothing happened, but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened. People have reported that they have gotten finger prints on their car after attempting the baby powder experiment. Is Gravity Hill haunted? I gathered some interesting evidence on this investigation.
When you approach The Haunted Forest (also known as The Enchanted Forest) at the end of Lake Ave. in Pasadena, California, it definitely has an intimidating first impression. As you walk towards the entrance you see the front gate of the forest. There’s bright street lighting, but as you get closer to the gate, it gets darker and darker. The gate looks like something out of a horror movie or the entrance to hell. Once you pass through the gate, it’s a good idea to have a flashlight with you because you can’t see an inch in front of you in this place. That is unless you look back toward the entrance of the forest with the street lighting. But if you’re interested in going into The haunted Forest, you better bring some flashlights with you or a camcorder with infrared.
People have claimed hearing screams coming from the Forest, but are unable to find anything. There have also been claims of people getting the feeling of being followed throughout the forest while exploring. I’ve had this experience happen to me before. A friend and I decided to come here one night out of curiosity of it’s hauntings. As we explored the forest, we could hear footsteps following us and leafs slowly cracking throughout our touring of the forest. It could’ve easily have been some sort of animal, but after searching areas of where it sounded like the footsteps occurred with flashlights, we were unable to find anything. The sounds of these footsteps continued to follow us until we exited the forest.
Strange lights can also be seen at night on the Echo Mt. hiking trail that connects to the forest. I was hiking up the trail to Echo Mt. one night, and at the time I didn’t know where the trail lead. I took it out of curiosity. Almost getting to the end of the trail, I looked at the very top of the mountain and suddenly saw these blue lights come on out of nowhere. The first light looked like it was searching the mountain for something. Shortly after that, the blue light started coming down the mountain and was followed by another one. Then, a third one started come down. It looked as if they were headed my way. Getting an uncomfortable feeling from this, I decided to turn around and hurry back down the trail back to the forest. I can’t say that this was paranormal since it was from a far distance. It could’ve been anything from hikers coming back down the mountain to mountain bikers. However, it was strange the way these blue lights moved. They were moving too fast and steady. It was also the middle of the night. When I came back down the mountain, I hid and waited for a while to see who or what it was. Oddly enough, nothing ever showed up. Reflecting back on this now, Los Angeles had a recent UFO sighting. Looking at the photographs, I didn't connect it to this situation until now. The lights that I saw coming down the mountain, looked a lot like the UFO light in the sky. There have been UFO sightings at this location. I didn't believe this claim, until i connected these two events together. Now, claims of UFO activity at this location are more legitimate.
http://moviepilot.com/posts/3633434 What the lights came down looked like. Since then, I have been to this forest many times with many friends. Sometimes nothing happens. Sometimes paranormal activity occurs. I’ve brought my digital recorder to this location many times and haven’t been able to come up with anything until recently. I had a K-II EMF (Electro-Magnetic Field) detector and decided to bring it to the forest. This forest seems to respond much more to an EMF detector than a digital recorder. The meter goes from green to red, green being the least amount of EMF’s and red being the most amount of EMF’s. The reason for using an EMF meter is because ghosts are a form of energy and they give off an Electro-Magnetic Field.
A friend and I were about to leave the forest when suddenly the EMF meter started to spike to red. Here were the questions we asked, to which a possible spirit responded. We asked it to leave the meter on green if the answer to the question is no, and to spike the meter to red if the answer to the question is yes.
Is something here with us right now?
Did you stop because I started video taping?
Do you not like the camera?
When I asked if something was here with us, the EMF meter spiked to red. I pulled out my flip camcorder to capture video evidence of the session but was unable to get anything. As soon as I turned off the camcorder, the EMF started spiking again. When I asked if it stopped because I started video taping, it responded with another spike. Whatever spirit was communicating with us, did not like the camcorder on. I went back to the forest the next week with the EMF detector to ask some more questions. I found another spot in the forest where the EMF detector was responsive and got a response to the following questions:
Do you need help?
Is there demonic activity going on here?
These questions I got an affirmative response. It seems that some spirits are in need of help in the forest area. There also seems to be demonic activity in the forest as well, based on the strong EMF response. Other claims of the forest is that gangland style executions have taken place here. Mr. Cobb, the man who once owned the land doesn't like it when people stand on his steps where his house once stood. Mr. Cobb's house turned into a spiritual retreat for nuns. It' rumored that one of the nuns was raped and hanged in this forest. Satanic rituals are said to have taken place here and is the reason for the forests hauntings. Also, there have been a few reports of sasquatch sightings.
Mr. Cobbs steps and where his house once stood. A clown face has been seen here by a psychic. Also, the smell of rotten flesh has occured here as well. No animal carcasses or anything dead were found. The demonic likes to use repulsive tactics on the living.
If you’re planning to go into The Haunted Forest, make sure you bring some flashlights and protection. Bring an EMF detector with you as this piece of equipment seems to be the most responsive in this forest. Finally, Ground and center before going in and be prepared for anything. EVP's This EVP was captured at a place that we've given the title "The Demon Spot." Telling my story to a tour group of getting EMF spikes when I said the word demon, the EMF detector then started to spike right in front of them. After playing this EVP for a psychic, she started to pick up on visions. She saw African American men in red shirts around a man that was kneeling down on the ground. It's believed that this was a gang that killed one of it's own.
Investigation This was an Investigation of the Haunted Forest Cobb Estate in October 2012. There are many claims of paranormal activity in this forest, including some brutal history. Everything from gangland style executions to a nun being raped and hanged in this forest. In this video, you'll see the evidence we've gathered from this location. No EVP's were captured at Mr. Cobb's steps, but footsteps are often heard on his property. We did a Spirit Box Session at the top where the water tower is and got some amazing responses. Watch and enjoy!
When you’re driving on the 134 freeway in Pasadena, California, you can’t help but notice the spectacular Colorado street bridge. It’s especially irresistible at night when the lighting makes the bridge seem more alive. It’s guaranteed to magnetize and attract anyone’s eye who catch’s it. However, once you’re on this bridge, you can’t help but notice a shift in energy. You’re not sure what it is, but to your suspicion, you feel like there’s a dark history behind this bridge. Well believe it or not, there is a twist to the Colorado street bridge. It’s better known as Suicide Bridge.
Why is it known as Suicide Bridge? During the Great Depression, people saw no other way to get their lives back on track, so they took the easy way out by jumping off the bridge. It’s been reported that more than 100 people jumped off the bridge during this time period. The bridge stands at approximately 150 feet high and spans 1,476 feet across the Arroyo Seco. One of the most famous urban legends of the bridge occurred when a construction worker accidentally fell off the bridge head first into wet concrete that was down below. However, this is the only story that seems to be questionable. Some say that it’s false. Others say it’s true and that the worker is the main reason for the bridges hauntings.
There are other spirits that haunt this bridge as well. People have reported seeing a man with wire-rimmed glasses being on the bridge. People have also reported a woman in a white robe standing on the parapets and jumping off the bridge. As she jumps off, she disappears. I can say that the woman in the white robe is true through a friend. One night, I was under the bridge ghost hunting with a group of friends. We had just gotten under the bridge, when suddenly one of my friends saw the woman in the white robe looking down upon him. He looked away to get our attention, but when he looked back up she was gone.
Many spirits are said to be wandering the bridge. Other tales include people hearing unexplained sounds such as cries and screaming. In the Arroyo forest, which is below the bridge, it is said that phantom figures roam under the bridge, walking on the river bed. I’ve personally had some experiences under the bridge myself. I remember my first time investigating the bridge with a friend of mine. The structure of the bridge from the ground is both beautiful and intimidating at the same time. After walking through the forest to the bridge, we started an EVP session. After that night, we reviewed the evidence and got something on my digital recorder. The following was said: “Do you have something to say to us that you can have us review back later”. After this statement, an entity said “Answer me!” It sounded very forceful and threatening and it was followed by a small growl. Another incident took place when we came back with a Ouija Board. (USE EXTREME CAUTION WHILE USING A OUIJA BOARD AT A HAUNTED LOCATION. IF YOU’RE GOING TO USE ONE, MAKE SURE YOU BRING SOME KIND OF PROTECTION, AND MAKE SURE YOU SAY GOODBYE AT THE END TO AVOID ATTACHMENTS TO ENTITIES.) My friend asked the following question: “Have I seen you before?” In what sounded like a demonic voice, the entity responded “Yes.” One more incident occurred while I was walking to the bridge on another night. Another group of friends and I were headed to the bridge when suddenly I heard footsteps sprinting behind us. As I turned around, the sprinting stopped and no one was there. As I reviewed the recording, there was definitely the sounds of footprints sprinting in the recording.
Although over a hundred people took their lives away on this bridge, a miraculous story did occur on the bridge. On May 1, 1937 a women approached the bridge with her baby. Her husband had recently left her and his baby due to inability to find work, so he left them feeling as if he would not be able to provide for them. First, she threw her baby off the bridge. Then she jumped off the bridge after she threw her baby off the bridge. The mother fell to her death. The baby on the other hand survived. When the baby was thrown off, it was caught by tree branches. Later that day, the baby was rescued. It is rumored that the spirit of the mother is searching for her baby.
The Colorado Street Bridge use to be a part of route 66 from 1926 up until 1940. On February 12, 1981, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. As of today, the bridge seems to remain true to it’s hauntings.
The Colorado St. Bridge EVP's Down below is a database of EVP's I've captured from the Colorado St. Bridge. In this EVP Session, we were below the Colorado St. Bridge asking a series of questions. I asked if anyone was there, that they could speak into the recorder. We then said "We know we can't hear you now, but if you have anything to say to us we can review later, we would appreciate it." In the middle of the that, you can hear a voice say "Answer me!"
A Ouija Board was used for this EVP Session. We were under the bridge again. We had recently encountered a possession with the Ouija Board with a friend, and we were looking for answers. We had a black candle lit to invite any spirits that were under the bridge. My friend asked "Have I seen you before?" Shortly after that, a terrifying voice came through saying"YES!"
In this EVP Session, we asked a series of questions. About 8 minutes in we asked "Are you next to us?" A voice came through. The EVP is hard to hear, but we think the spirit might be saying"Pretty close."
The Colorado St. Bridge Investigations
In January of 2012, I was conducting an investigation at the Colorado St. Bridge (Suicide Bridge.) On May 1 1937, A man left his family because of the Great Depression. He was unable to provide for his family and he left them. His wife decided to go to the Colorado St. Bridge with her baby. She threw her baby off of the bridge first. She jumped off shortly afterwards taking her own life. Miraculously, the baby survived. The police found the baby caught in the tree branches. I was doing an EMF session below the bridge trying to come in contact with this woman. I asked "Are you confused about what happened to your child?" This video I shot is what I believe to be her responding to my question.
Here is an investigation I did in late December of 2012. In this investigation, I used a Mel Meter, a digital recorder, and the SB7 Spirit Box. The results were quite intriguing.
Spirit of A Jumper At Suicide Bridge
I bring this photo up because I've seen the energy form before in pictures. I saw it in a picture that claims to be the spirit of WWE Wrestler Owen Hart falling to his death. In this picture captured at the Colorado St. Bridge, you can see a diagonal white energy form to the left of the picture.I believe it to be a residual effect of a someone jumping off the bridge. We also heard a tree branch crack with a good amount of force down in the arroyo. I believe this to to be residual energy of someone jumping off the
bridge. The Colorado St. Bridge Spirit Box Sessions The Spirit Box or the Ghost Box as some like to call it, is one of the most popular devices in the paranormal field today. It's been seen on Ghost Adventures quite a few times. What this device does is deliver continuous white noise by sweeping through various radio frequencies. White noise is a lower frequency in which spirits can communicate to the living. The sound is static. It's like capturing an EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena) in real time. So if you ask a question while the radio is sweeping through various frequencies, a spirit will answer your question. This is an archive of Spirit Box sessions at the Colorado St. Bridge (Suicide Bridge.) I've gotten some amazing responses from this location and I think you guys will find these videos very interesting.
